I also specializes in working with couples wishing to rebuild a relationship and heal from infidelity. Stress is a part of everyday life from minor challenges to major crises. It is important to learn strategies to control how to respond to stress because sometimes you cannot always control your circumstances. Chronic or acute stress can negatively affect your mental and physical well being. Long-term and short-term stress relief strategies would be discussed and practiced in session such as breathing exercises, grounding work, problem-focused coping and gratitude journaling. Finding the best tools to alleviate stress will take some experimenting and practice but it is essential to find healthy ways to manage the sometimes inevitable challenges in life.
Relationship coaching is centered around setting and achieving specific goals. This could include improving communication, resolving conflicts, enhancing intimacy or navigating major life transitions such as marriage, divorce, loss of a loved one or welcoming a baby into the family. There is an emphasis on personal development such as building self-awareness and emotional intelligence, learning conflict management skills and identifying and breaking negative patterns. Clients can discuss their challenges in a supportive, safe and confidential environment.
The goal is to help clients gain control over their lives, build self-confidence, resilience and to develop the skills needed to make positive changes. Clients will be directed to recognize their strengths, make informed decisions, and take action toward achieving their personal and life goals. This type of counselling and coaching can be used to support specific challenges like overcoming abuse, addiction or major life transitions. It is a client-centered , strength based and goal setting type of approach. Empowerment counselling is provided in a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can express themselves freely.
